I am so thrilled to do my first family photojournalism shoot this weekend with a client who is not related to me. Not that there's anything wrong with anyone who is my relative. Hahahahaha! Seriously I have some of the cutest nieces and nephews around. Having someone trust you with their family means a lot. I have worked with children in some capacity for as long as I can remember; babysitter when I was a kiddo, preschool teacher, dance and gymnastics instructor.
When you do family photojournalism shoots you are spending several hours with a family. You have to be able to connect with them. You have to be able to start reading them quickly and look for those special moments and expressions within each person, each interaction, each relationship.
Keep a watch to see what you think. I'd definitely love to spend a day with your family capturing your special moments. And as we all know. Special doesn't always mean sweet or funny. Guess what there might be a tantrum, fight but we all have those and they make for some pretty cute photos too!
